Academics
At NDA, we believe in providing quality education to our children and advocate planting challenges along the way of their growth, so that they can truly achieve comprehensive growth, not just inside the classroom, but also outside of it. Children at Notre Dame Academy are expected to be independent thinkers, develop first-class critical reading, writing, and analysis skills, learn to understand the value of research across all areas of the curriculum, be self-motivated and self-driven through a genuine love of the subject and not only by intrinsic rewards. NDA students do not simply absorb knowledge or regurgitate a standardized interpretation of facts. They question, investigate, innovate, and apply new concepts to real-life local and global contexts.
NDA teachers are passionate, highly qualified, and recognized as leading educators in their respective fields. We provide a caring, friendly, and well-structured educational environment. We value all our students and mentor them towards attaining academic excellence. Our outstanding team of teachers and professionals are more than just educators: they are true Artisans of Education. At our school, teachers don’t just teach but facilitate learning. A variety of methods and tools are used to spark curiosity and interest within a child. Students are guided toward a set of Desired Learning Outcomes which include the development of a profound sense of self, healthy interpersonal relationships, a deep sense of global citizenship, and the skills to flourish in today’s complex and interconnected world.
The emphasis is on the holistic development of the child. Co-curricular activities and responsibility towards the environment are integrated into the learning process. The efforts are to remain abreast with the latest in the field of education so that the academic program remains contemporary and rigorous at all times.
Our students leave this place with a deep sense of identity, vocation, and purpose.
Curriculum
There is a paradigm shift in learning over the past decade due to the influence of the digital world. Children are far ahead in their thinking processes. Keeping ahead of these trends, Notre Dame Academy offers a curriculum, which creates opportunities for the children to become independent learners and thinkers.
Assessment
The Academic Year begins in June and continues until mid-April of the following year. A continuous and year-long assessment pattern is followed to provide regular feedback to the students and the teachers. The comprehensive pattern of assessments followed for evaluation is based on class tests, project/skill-based internal assessments, and written/oral assessments.
ICSE Results
Affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), Notre Dame Academy prepares students to appear for the ICSE examinations at the high school (class 10) level. ICSE has a detailed syllabus and the students receive comprehensive learning about the subjects. Arts, science, languages, and mathematics are all given equal importance by the ICSE Board.
Five batches have graduated from the school. The results have been impressive and the students have brought laurels to the School.
Special Exams
The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivation and richer their experiences. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of competitions and exams beyond the school curriculum so that their knowledge knows no limits.
