Model United Nations Orientation – May 14
To ensure the holistic development of our students, our school will actively participate in Model United Nations (MUN) programs this academic year. In support of this initiative, we organized an orientation session for students in Classes 9 through 12, aiming to enhance their skills and guide them towards excellence.
We were honoured to have Ms. Laly, a distinguished educationist with over 20 years of experience at Sophia High School, Bangalore, lead the session. Her extensive expertise in directing both intra- and inter-school MUN activities at Sophia provided a valuable and enriching experience for our students. They capitalized on this opportunity to deepen their understanding of the procedures and formalities involved in organizing and participating in Model United Nations.
Farewell to Sr.Abha & Welcoming Sr.Jaisheela – May 28
The Notre Dame family bid farewell to Sr. Abha as she transitioned from her current position. Despite the poignant nature of the occasion, we made it memorable by giving her a warm farewell, sharing cherished moments, and acknowledging her invaluable contributions to the school.
The day was also dedicated to welcoming Sr. Jaisheela, who has been appointed as the new Secretary and Manager of Notre Dame Academy, Choodasandra. We extended a heartfelt welcome to Sister Jaisheela and conveyed our enthusiasm to collaborate with her in the future.
Staff Orientation – May 31
Notre Dame Academy places great importance on the continuous professional development of its staff. To support this commitment, an orientation session was organized prior to the commencement of the academic year, under the guidance of Dr. Fr. Shijo Antony C. M., Dean of De Paul Degree College, Mysore.
The session, titled “Imbibing the Meaning of Life in the Process of Learning and Teaching: A Positive Psychology – Mindfulness Approach,” proved to be both informative and beneficial. It provided valuable insights into achieving happiness and self-care, highlighting the necessity of managing everyday work stress and emotional imbalances in professional life. The techniques for de-stressing and decluttering the mind presented by Dr. Fr. Shijo Antony will undoubtedly assist teachers in reaching their goals with greater confidence. The knowledge gained from this session will aid us in transforming our daily lives for the better.
