School Song
Love and truth, fair gift divine
Honour, glory, praise be Thine
Child like hearts to God’s own heart
Fashioned by Thy gentle art.
Ref:
Flame of truth so strong and sure
Make Thy children free and pure
Flower of love by silent speech
Gift of self unto us teach.
Boundless, quenchless, deathless fire
Stronger than all men’s desire
Burn our souls with truth’s own flame
Peace and joy shall be Thy fame.
Show our mind and guide our will
Love’s dear duties to fulfill
To the needy, to the sad
Help us bring Thy message glad.
God who art both love and truth
Lead our footsteps, lead our youth
Then within Thy heart divine
Truth and love shall intertwine.
“The aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values” says, William S. Burroughs. Our school is one of those institutions of spreading values for life. It is mentioned in the first stanza of our school anthem itself. “The highest result of education is tolerance,” says, Hellen Keller. Yes, but the root of tolerance is love and truth. Without these two values, one can’t be tolerant. So as we become educated people, we also become tolerant and strive to spread the values to the young and old, meek and bold. In this way, we the past, present, and the future of the Notre Dame Academy united in spirit move with us those people that are around us towards those sublime values which help to build a society where peace and joy rule.
