Teachers Day – September 5
The Teachers’ Day celebration at Notre Dame Academy was a joyful and heartfelt occasion, honouring the dedication and contributions of the teaching staff. The event, organized by the students, featured a variety of performances, including songs, dances, and speeches that expressed gratitude and admiration for the teachers. The day began with a special assembly, where students shared stories of inspiration and presented handmade cards and gifts.
Teachers were also treated to fun games and activities that brought smiles and laughter. The special gifts and treat from the management and Parent Teacher Association added more joy to the event. The celebration beautifully highlighted the deep bond between students and teachers, emphasizing the role of educators in shaping young minds and guiding them toward success.

Outreach event - Flood relief – September 8
In response to the devastating floods in Kerala, an outreach activity was organized to provide much-needed relief aid to the affected communities. Students voluntarily contributed essential supplies such as food, clothing, medicines, and sanitary supplies for the cause. This actually highlights the mindset of our students to care and provide for the needy. We were able to witness the feeling of deep empathy within our students.
These contributions were distributed to flood victims in the hardest-hit areas by the Sisters, staff and PTA President personally, offering immediate relief and hope in the face of adversity. The initiative highlighted the spirit of solidarity and compassion, showing how collective efforts can make a significant difference in rebuilding lives after a disaster.
Platinum Jubilee Celebration – September 9 - 11
The Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Sisters of Notre Dame in India was a grand event held at Sophia High School, Bangalore. The occasion marked 75 years of the Sisters’ dedicated service in the field of education and social work. Twelve Notre Dame schools from across India came together to participate in this momentous celebration, showcasing their vibrant talents through a variety of cultural performances, exhibitions, and competitions.
The event was a true reflection of the diverse skills and creativity of the students, who honoured the Sisters’ legacy with their enthusiastic participation. Through dance, music, drama, and art indigenous to their particular state , the schools highlighted the core values instilled by the Sisters, paying tribute to their tireless efforts in shaping young minds and uplifting communities. The celebration not only commemorated the past but also inspired the future, reinforcing the lasting impact of the Sisters of Notre Dame in India.
Cadence – Inter- school Music Fest – September 11 & 12
Cadence Fest 2023, held at St. Joseph’s Boys School, Bangalore, was a vibrant celebration of music and talent, featuring various singing categories—solo, duet, and group—divided into Junior (grades 5 to 7) and Senior (grades 8 to 10) sections. This year’s event also included a special ISC and PUC Singing competition for grades 11 and 12, and for the first time, a Western Instrumental category was introduced for both juniors and seniors. Reflecting Bangalore’s rich linguistic diversity, participants showcased their talents in English, Hindi, and Kannada, adding a unique cultural flair. Our students excelled, securing several awards across different categories.
Articulate – Primary - September 12
The Articulate Competition for the Primary School at Notre Dame Academy was a vibrant display of young talent. Students from Classes I to III participated in a Storytelling event, captivating the audience with their expressive narratives and creativity. Meanwhile, Classes IV and V showcased their skills in Thematic Recitation, where they recited poems aligned with specific themes, bringing them to life with emotion and clarity. The competition provided an excellent platform for students to enhance their speaking abilities and boost their confidence.

Onam Celebration – September 20
Onam was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Notre Dame Academy, blending tradition with the vibrant spirit of the students. The event featured a beautiful pookalam (floral rangoli) competition, where each class showcased intricate designs. Teachers performed traditional thiruvathira dances, capturing the essence of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. The vibrant dance and the Onam song by the teachers added much enthusiasm to the day. A highlight of the day was the Payasam, that brought together the school community, symbolizing unity and prosperity. The celebration was not only a joyful occasion but also an opportunity for the everyone to learn about and appreciate the cultural significance of Onam.
Singing Competition – Pre-primary – September 20
The Singing and Rhyme competition for Pre-primary students at Notre Dame Academy was a delightful showcase of young talent and enthusiasm. The little ones, dressed in vibrant outfits, confidently took to the stage, singing popular rhymes and songs with charming energy. Their performances, filled with innocent joy and rhythm, brought smiles to the audience. The event not only highlighted the children’s vocal abilities but also fostered their confidence and stage presence. It was a heartwarming celebration of music, creativity, and early childhood development.
CISCE National Games – September 26
Sohan Kumar of Class XI achieved an impressive second place in the Long Jump event at the CISCE National Games, held at St. Joseph’s School, Hyderabad. His outstanding performance not only earned him a silver medal but also qualified him for the prestigious School Games Federation of India (SGFI) competition. Sohan’s dedication and hard work have made the school proud, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavours.
Educational Trip - September 28
Class IX students of Notre Dame Academy recently embarked on an educational trip to Delhi and Dalhousie, offering them a perfect blend of historical exploration and natural beauty. In Delhi, they visited iconic landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and India Gate, gaining valuable insights into India’s rich heritage and political history. The trip to Dalhousie provided a refreshing experience amidst scenic landscapes, where students participated in team-building activities and interacted with the local culture. This trip not only enhanced their learning but also fostered camaraderie and personal growth.
