All for the Greater Honour & Glory of God

Activity Report for Month July

“For it is God who works in you and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose” – Philippians 2:19

At Notre Dame Academy, we prioritize beginning and ending our day in His will, a value we strive to instil in our students. Our relationship with God Almighty takes precedence, and this principle is central to our lessons and activities. Recently, we held a special Mass for our Catholic students to foster a sense of community. It was a sacred ceremony attended by all with reverence, gratitude, and prayers.

“Colour is a power that directly influences the soul.” – Wassily Kandinsky

Colour Day is a vibrant celebration for the pre-primary students of the NDA family, where they dress in their designated hues. This event plays a crucial role in the psychomotor development of these young learners by enhancing their colour recognition and identification skills. The joy and pride reflected on the faces of these tiny tots is truly heartwarming. To further ignite their enthusiasm, teachers meticulously decorate the classrooms in matching colours. The day is filled with engaging group activities, making it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.

As an institution dedicated to enhancing our students’ skills beyond academics, we encourage them to seize every opportunity for growth. In fact we are much inclined to assist our students in this regard.

Gadiel Geo of Class 9 was selected to represent our institution to participate in the Times Essay Writing Competition. She fully embraced this opportunity, which proved to be an enriching experience. We were delighted to facilitate Gadiel’s participation, as this platform significantly enhanced her creative thinking and writing abilities.

Notre Dame Academy celebrated St. Julie’s Day with a heartwarming assembly, honouring the legacy and spirit of St. Julie Billiart , the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame. The assembly began with a soulful prayer service, invoking blessings and remembering St. Julie’s unwavering faith and dedication to education. The assembly was enriched with a beautifully choreographed dance and an inspiring skit by the Primary and Upper Primary students highlighting St. Julie’s commitment to empowering young women through education and her vision for a just and inclusive society.

Sr.Sandhya , our Principal delivered a moving speech, reminding the students of St. Julie’s teachings and how they continue to shape the values and mission of our school. She encouraged everyone to embody St. Julie’s spirit of kindness, perseverance, and love in their daily lives.

The assembly concluded with a special song performed by the school choir, paying tribute to St. Julie’s enduring legacy. The event not only celebrated our rich heritage but also instilled a sense of pride and inspiration in the hearts of all present.

The visit of Provincial Superior Sr. Chethana to Notre Dame Academy was a momentous occasion for both the staff and students. Under the able guidance of Sr. Sandhya, Sr. Chethana received a dignified welcome from the staff.

As the Sisters of Notre Dame in India celebrate their platinum jubilee, we elevated this visit into a formal celebration of this milestone. An awe-inspiring assembly was organized, depicting the divine journey of the Sisters of Notre Dame in India over the past 75 years.

Sr. Chethana’s inspirational speech profoundly touched our students, instilling in them a deeper appreciation for their institution. Her visit was indeed a blessed and memorable event.

Education is a sacred process that thrives on the collaborative efforts of students, teachers, and parents. To ensure the smooth progression of educational activities, it is essential to foster optimal collaboration among these three groups. As part of our commitment to this unity, we organized a parent-teacher interaction session for the parents of students in Classes 3 to 10.

To ensure maximum participation and efficient organization, we allotted separate dates and time slots for different classes. Additionally, we arranged a special session for parents led by the organizers of the Better Life Project and counsellors from TREDA.

The session proved to be fruitful, serving as a platform for parents to receive answers to their common queries and for teachers to communicate their general concerns.

The Language Day assembly at Notre Dame Academy was a vibrant celebration of linguistic diversity, organized by our talented French and Hindi students echoing the value of multilingualism in today’s globalized world. The event aimed to highlight the cultural richness and importance of language learning.

Throughout the assembly, students from both language groups collaborated in an effective which a novel experience to the viewers. The performances also depicted the beauty and richness of these cultures and it definitely creates an urge in the students to know more about it.

It was a resounding success, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for linguistic diversity and the importance of language learning. The event was a celebration of cultural exchange and learning, fostering a sense of unity and respect among the students of Notre Dame Academy.

“When you have confidence, you can have lot of fun. And when you do have fun, you can do amazing things.” – Joe Namath

The Pre-primary students were engaged with an engrossing Show N Tell competition. The objective of this event was to encourage the tiny tots to ameliorate their verbal expertise and to stimulate oratory skills.

The students were jubilant to ‘show’ and ‘tell’ about their favourite toy or any object and it was a sure success to boost their self – confidence and to fend off their inhibitions to face a crowd. The participation of our young ones aided them to let their imaginations unfold without any curtailments.

Engaging in sports teaches resilience, discipline, willpower, and the ability to face challenges. At Notre Dame Academy, we strive to cultivate these qualities in our students by ensuring an active and vibrant Physical Education department throughout the academic year. This commitment allows our students to participate in various events both within and beyond the school.

This month, our students have excelled in numerous inter-school activities. These experiences have not only taught them to handle both failures and successes with a positive mindset but have also ignited an inner drive to strive harder. Moreover, participating in these events has fostered a sense of teamwork, encouraging students to share appreciation with their peers and to consider others on their journey.
